Otari CB-110 wireless remote adapter for the Otari MX-5050 MkIII 8-track deck. The remote adapter kit is $80 when purchased direct. Controls Play, Stop, Fast Forward, Rewind and Record. Plugs into the blue 50-pin Honda connector on the back of the deck. Comes with wireless remote receiver unit and a preprogrammed universal remote. Shipping is $10 within the US or $25 outside the US. This unit controls the standard transport controls on the Otari MX-5050 MkIII 8-track deck (Play, Stop, Fast Forward, Rewind and Record). It uses any standard universal remote programmed for Sony VCR (preprogrammed DirecTV remote included).

CB-127 wireless remote adapter for Otari MTR-15, MX-50, MX-50N-II, MX-55, MX-55N, MX5050 (BIII-2, BIII-4, BIII-8), MX-5050 MkIV and other decks that use the CB-127. Controls Play, Stop, Fast Forward, Rewind, Record and Lifter. Plugs into the 37-pin D-sub connector on the back of the deck.
The remote adapter can be programmed to respond to various Sony VCR codes. To select between them there are jumpers inside the unit. Remove the two screws on the bottom of the unit and remove the top cover. Located near the front window is a jumper block. These jumpers configure what type of Sony VCR codes the unit will respond to. See the table below for a list of jumper settings.

Configuring the DirecTV Remote: To program the remote first slide the switch at the top to AV1 or AV2. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT buttons until the green light at the top blinks twice then release. Using the number keypad enter the 5 digit device code from the table above. If done correctly the green light will blink twice after the last digit is entered. The full manual for the DirecTV can be found here
