Crown PRO-800 Wireless Remote Adapter
Last updated March 12, 2022
There are two versions. One version just has Play, Stop, Fast Forward and Rewind. The second version adds Record. Since the SX-811, SX-812, SX-822, SX-824 and SX-844 don't have remote record capability the first version is good enough. The CX-822, CX-828 and CX-844 have remote record capability so the
Controls Play, Stop, Fast Forward, Rewind and Record (record on CX-8xx decks only).
I sell this on eBay for $70 or buy direct for $65 + shipping of $10 within the US or $25 outside the US.

Installation: Turn off the power to the tape deck. Plug the remote adapter into the remote connector on the back of the tape deck. Now power can be turned back on. The light on the front of the remote adapter should be on.
The remote adapter controls the standard 4 transport functions: Play, Stop, Fast Forward, Rewind and Record if the deck has record capability. All functions can be controlled using any universal remote programmed for the proper Sony VCR code.
The remote adapter can be programmed to respond to Sony VHS VCR, Beta VCR, 8mm VCR and Laser Disc Player codes. To select between the four options there are two jumpers inside the unit. Remove the two screws on the bottom of the unit and remove the top cover.
Toward the front window are two jumpers labeled 1 and 2. They configure the remote device code per the table below.
